Love is Me

“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.  It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.  It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.” NIV 1 Cor 13:4-8

One of the most powerful sermons I have ever listened to was from my friend, Brad. Hopefully I can find the link to his sermon and share it in this blog soon. He challenged us to replace the word love with our name using the passage from 1 Corinthians 13.  Please beware if you try this yourself,
it may change your life and others close to you. The day that I started believing what I was saying was the day that I felt “born again”, or born from above once again. There is a re-birth from each layer of religion that I shed! Try it yourself! I would love to hear what you experience!

Love is home for me. It’s where I came from. Love is who formed me. It’s who lives inside me. Love is my destiny.

Love is me

Note: I do not always look like my true identity. Just like the lost son, I’ve taken a few trips to feed the pigs. Sometimes I just get down the road and remember home, but other times I stay long enough to name the pigs. It doesn’t change who I am, where I came from, or whose image I bear. 🙂 It is in this “place” that I’m learning to live and experience the radical transforming power of Jesus Christ.

Try replacing love with your name but reading 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 from The Message for a slightly different perspective.
