Just Like Papa

There are three types of people in the world.

People who make things happen.

People who watch things happen.

And, people who say “what happened?!”

The slogan above is one of my favorites and typically gives me a small chuckle as I picture the different personalities. 😉

I was pondering this evening how we were created from a community of Love who desired to “make things happen.” Remember the magnificent story of creation? Out of this amazing fullness, humanity happened. Beauty was born.

I’ve always been the type of person that wanted to make things happen. I laughed tonight when I realized that I’m just like my Papa. God obviously knows how to make things happen!! Even though I can’t make things happen just like Papa, I like to try. I see it everyday in other people too. The way God uses popular culture to show-off His creation is pretty awesome. Everyday I hear, taste, and see the imaginations of others come to life.

“So God created mankind in his own image,

in the image of God he created them;

male and female he created them.” Gen. 1:27

We carry God’s image! It took me many years to believe the verse above. Once I did, I began to discover the heart of the Person whose image we bear and see a little deeper into my own. And what I saw, I really liked. God in me. Ahhh, goosebumps!

I love seeing ways that I favor my Daddy! 🙂

What kind of traits do you see in yourself that remind you of Papa God?

Where in today’s pop-culture do you see God? Or, do you see Him there at all?

Of the three kinds of people listed above which one are you?
What kind of things do you like to “make happen”?

Here’s a favorite of mine Bonjour by Michael Franti.

“An artist is revealed in the work he or she creates, and in the abundance of the work created.” John Eldredge
